ALISON JOYNES

From her earliest childhood memories, Alison had a keen interest in nature. She would spend hours playing outside, helping neighbors plant pansies and snap dragons. She always knew she wanted to work outside and be immersed in nature.

Alison earned her degree in Forest Resource Management from Virginia Tech, where she also worked for the Entomology department, researching biological controls for the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid and Southern Pine Beetle. After graduating, Alison moved to Denver, reconnected with Mike and discovered her passion for taking care of beautiful gardens. She worked in award winning gardens for several years before returning home to Virginia.

Alison continued her education by completing her certificate as a Garden Designer through the University of Richmond. Today she spends most of her time creating and caring for gardens, playing with her two small children and spending time along the James River.

MIKE JOYNES

For over 20 years, Mike has been honing his skills in the landscape industry. From spreading mulch and raking leaves for neighbors in high school, to leading award winning estate garden crews in Colorado, Mike has garnered a genuine love and understanding of the residential landscape.

Mike is an expert when it comes to pruning ornamental trees. His work with Japanese Maples, Dogwoods and other specimen trees is truly exquisite.

He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1999 and enjoys fly fishing, cooking, and relaxing with Alison and their two children.
